DSM Food Specialties (DFS) develops, produces and markets food ingredients and processing aids for the dairy, savoury, beverage, bakery and nutritional markets.

The DFS sensory research group provides services to the business by delivering the required evidence for the claimed sensory effects of our ingredients. For that purpose we are running multiple sensory panels with professionally trained assessors for Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) and discriminative tasks. Growing business needs require additional investments in sensory research. Therefore DFS/R&D/Food Application Department in Delft (NL), is looking for a:

Senior sensory technologist / associate scientist sensory
(M/V)

The Challenge
You will contribute to the core sensory process (problem intake / definition of objectives, design & planning of experiments, roll-out, data-analysis & communication). Within this process, you will mainly focus on data processing and analysis (multivariate statistics) and the communication of the results. In addition you will participate in product development projects together with analytical sciences in order to link product composition to perception (metabolic profiling). You will work closely with the sensory colleagues to support daily practice and contribute to new sensory methodology.

The Ideal
We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor's or master's degree in food science, chemistry or equivalent, with competency in the field of sensory analysis and multivariate statistics. The candidate should have good communication skills and reporting capabilities.
